Thallay valley beautiful lush green mountains and plains in Khaplu, Ghanche District, Gilgit Baltistan. The Thallay valley is 30Km away from Mal, Ghanche headquarter. This valley is located on the bank of the Shoyk river. Keris is the junction point of the Shoyk river with the Indus river. Distance from Skardu city to Thallay valley is almost 110 Km.
Baltistan the land of peace, beautiful valleys, and mountains. The Thallay valley is among the easy trek points. The Thalay valley joins Shigar and Khaplu valleys at 4572 meters above sea level. This is an easy Trekking point. This trek can smoothly attempt regardless of age.
The Thalle La one of the fewer non-glaciated passes and one of Baltistan’s easiest trekking points. Trek start from Thalley Broq to Thalley Gongma camp. The lush green valley and the pretty landscape is amazing. Thalley Valley is a nice place for camping and hiking. This valley also provides a track to k-2 base camp from Shink thang via Kurboq Sa and Biama to Aliang Hushey valley. This adventure presents an interesting experience to encounter the cheerful Balti people all the way.
District Ghanche is also known as Khaplu in Baltistan. This district is about 103 Km from Skardu City to the east. Khaplu has been associating Baltistan with Ladakh. Siachen route is from here that shows the defensive importance of this. High peak mountains like Mashabrum are surrounding these valleys. Khaplu is also called as Shayok valley. Shoyk is the name of a river also in this district. which starts from Chorbat valley, crossing all the valleys of Khaplu and meet with the Indus river near Karis.
