The Skardu valley capital city of Baltistan also called Baltiyul. This is the main town of Baltistan along the bank of the Indus river. Skardu is the largest district in the Gilgit Baltistan. The word “Skardu” is a Balti language word meaning a low ground between two high places. Skardu is introduced in the European literature by a Frenchman Francios Bernier (1625–1688). Who mentioned the city by the name of Eskerdou.
Skardu has four seasons.

- The Colorful Autumn.

The Spring season:
The spring also called as Cherry Blossom season in starts from March to mid-April. The spring is Blossom Season and is an amazing season that can be glanced at the start of spring. Each season has its own beauty, but it is a recognized fact that spring is the most favorite season of the year. It never fails to make the heart happy to see the inactive plants reviving. Brown’s place looked like green rose bushes that looked like sticks a week ago, now with green leaves and new buds on the team. Cherry blossom season is a wonderful season to see at the beginning of spring
The Summer Season
During the summer the climate of Skardu is moderated by the setting of its mountains. The intense heat of mainland Pakistan does not reach it. Mostly tourists from all over the world visit Skardu in the Summer season, Offering sunny days and pleasant temperatures.
The colorful Autumn
Skardu looks more colorful in Autumn and is more attractive for photographers and tourists too. As summer paves the way for the fall season in Skardu, it is the time of the year where the nights get cooler, the days get shorter and the leaves of the trees turn into multi-colored
Winters are cold and the temperature drops over to -10 in the middle of December which further drops in January to -20 and above. Snow falling in Skardu begins from the starting of December which finally ends up at the start of March.
