Basho valley Skardu is located in Roundu Divison of Skardu District, Gilgit Baltistan. The Basho Valley, with its extreme beauty,  majestic snow-capped mountains, and primitive charm, is one of the favorite places to visit in Skardu, the Northern area of Pakistan.

About one and a half hour’s drive from Skardu, the famous city of Baltistan. The valley is almost 8,800 feet above sea level. Around 45 km away from Skardu, Gilgit Baltistan, and at approx.10,000 ft high.

The valley has high mountains on three sides. Which is also home to deer, markhor, ibex, and snow leopard. This area is distinguished in the entire region due to the vast forests and beautiful landscapes. The only Eco-adventure place in the Baltistan region. The picturesque and demoralized valley of Baltistan, Bashu Valley, is a sight to behold.

The word “Basho” means Raisin in Balti, the local language of the valley. because the valley is rich in grapes. From which they make raisins.

Famous Places to visit in Basho Valley

  1. Basho meadow is a must-visit place near Skardu Gilgit-Baltistan. Best for camping, and other adventure lovers. The summer season is the most suitable to visit this place.
  2. Basho Waterfall is easily accessible. This beautiful waterfall is next to the bridge leading to Basho Valley. Although this is not a natural waterfall. The source of this waterfall is the overflowed water of the Hydro power plant in Basho Valley.
  3. Chocolate Rocks is also near the Basho Bridge. The appearance of these rocks is similar to that of chocolate. Most importantly, It shines in the sunlight just like a big Chocolate rock.
