Deosai National Plains is located at an altitude of 4,114 meters above sea level. Hence it is considered to be the second-highest plateau in the world. Deosai National Park is a high-altitude plain and national park in the Baltistan region, the northern areas of Pakistan.
Deosai is also called the “Roof of the world”. Deosai means ‘the land of Jinns’ in Urdu. While People of Baltistan call this place Ghibarsa means Summer’s Place because it is only accessible in summer.
Deosai National Plains can be reached by different routes. Deosai is in the north of the Skardu district. District Kharmang is in the SouthEast and District Astore to the west. Most tourists visit Deosai from Skardu. There are two more routes from District Skardu one from Shilla Valley while the second is through Burgi Nala Xhoq Kachura Valley. Deosai has located about 30km from Skardu city. You can reach it within an hour therefore it is considered to be the shortest way to visit Deosai. Another route is through chillim Astore, Gilgit Baltistan.
